Tulum is a city on Mexico's Caribbean coast, on the Yucatán Peninsula. It is known for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Mayan port. The main building is a large stone structure called El Castillo, which stands on top of a rocky cliff, overlooking the white-sand beaches and turquoise sea. Near the ruins is Tulum National Park, a coastal area with mangroves and cenotes.
